REVIEW: Justice - John Cain Arena – Melbourne, VIC

Written by: Lachlan Bradford

If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to stand inside a speaker, Justice answered it tonight.

Melbourne got the full treatment from the moment Busy P walked out, the Ed Banger OG himself, the bloke who helped shape a whole generation’s taste. The heads in the room knew what that meant. Then Tame Impala jumped on the decks and tipped the whole room into that sweet, uneasy tension you only get at proper electronic shows.

When Justice finally walked on, the sound didn’t rise, it detonated.

It felt like the entire arena had been plugged straight into a generator. The light show was completely unhinged. Not just pretty colours. Moving rigs, slices of white light, patterns hitting from every angle. It looked engineered, not just programmed.

Justice barely moved, barely spoke. Just two silhouettes, smoking, locked in, looking cool as hell while the room shook around them.

Genesis and Phantom came in like air-raid sirens. Everything off Cross landed heavier, sharper, alive. The classics didn’t feel nostalgic, they felt upgraded. D.A.N.C.E. turned the arena into one massive choir. We Are Your Friends blew the roof off, and Audio, Video, Disco rolled through like a final punchline delivered in neon.

Then came the encore. A final blast of controlled chaos capped off byTame Impala walking back out to take vocals on Neverender. Surreal. Perfect. The kind of moment that proves Justice don’t play shows, they create full-body experiences.
