Good Things Festival 2025: A Day of Heat, Chaos and Pure Musical Power
Good Things Festival 2025 at Flemington Racecourse delivered everything Melbourne loves most: blistering heat, a sea of black band shirts, the beers flowing steadily and an atmosphere buzzing from the moment the gates opened. Despite the scorching conditions, the energy across the grounds was unbelievable with thousands of fans ready for a full day of heavy music, nostalgia, chaos and pure festival magic.
The day had its fair share of surprises. Both All American Rejects and Knocked Loose pulled out late, creating a huge gap in the schedule. Melbourneβs own Thornhill stepped in with only four hours of notice and absolutely crushed it. Their last-minute set before Machine Head became one of the standout moments of the festival and even earned them praise from Machine Head on stage. It was a proud moment for the local scene and a reminder of how strong Australian talent is.
Alpha Wolf also had to withdraw, but the momentum stayed high. Make Them Suffer delivered a powerful set that had the crowd going wild from the first song to the last, proving once again why they are one of Australiaβs most exciting heavy acts.
Lorna Shore brought the intensity to a whole new level. Their performance was brutal, precise and unforgettable. Will Ramosβ screams were electric and the entire crowd felt the impact. It was a huge moment for long-time fans and an eye-opener for newcomers seeing them live for the first time.
Garbage brought a different kind of energy with an incredible midday set. Shirley Manson showed exactly why she remains an icon, performing with strength and attitude that lit up the stage. The crowd sang along to their classics despite the heat, creating one of the most uplifting moments of the day and a strong display of feminine power at the festival.
When Tool took the stage, they set the tone with a hypnotic fifteen-minute intro that built the tension to breaking point. As soon as the first song finally kicked in, the entire crowd erupted. Their performance was immersive, technical and completely captivating from start to finish.
From surprise cancellations to last-minute heroics, from deathcore breakdowns to alternative rock anthems, Good Things Festival 2025 delivered everything fans hoped for and more. Hot, loud, dramatic and absolutely unforgettable.
