FOUNTAINEER ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM ‘GREATER CITY, GREATER LOVE’

Fountaineer have just announced the details of their debut album Greater City, Greater Love alongside a special hometown launch show the eve after the release. Fittingly, the news came via triple j during a live broadcast from Bendigo - the city that’s been an omnipresent muse and inspired the record.

The focus for Greater City, Greater Love was on creating something that was empathetic no matter where a listener came from, drawing universal themes out of small town Australia. Every drum beat, every searing riff, every soaring synth run throbs with youthful exuberance, all the while front man Anthony White’s vocals sit above them all, bearing wisdom in contrast.

Greater City, Greater Love will be released worldwide via 1825 Records on August 4th - with Fountaineer playing a special hometown album launch in the Gold Dust Lounge at Hotel Shamrock, celebrating the city at the heart of their song writing.

White explains the album further:

“To us, the spirit of the album lives in the sessions we did in the town of Alexandra in a farmhouse on the lake. The story was always the most important thing to tell; Bendigo the most important thing to portray. It was kind of like one of those TV cooking show challenges; where you get five ingredients, a George Foreman grill and whatever's in the fridge - and you have to go make the best meal you can.

So it's with a strange sense of pride, immense relief, and nervous trepidation that we release 'Greater City...' to the world in August.”

Embodying the last 50 years of rock storytelling, from the mood and tension of post-punk to the solemn heroism of blue-collar rock'n'roll, Greater City, Greater Love is as much a soundtrack for running through moonlit streets defiant against the world as much as a soundtrack for remembering those times with awe.

Greater City, Greater Love includes current single ‘The Cricketers’ and will be available for pre order this Friday 7th July alongside a new album track ‘Onomatopoeia’.
