BELOVE Release "Hey Girl" First Single From Upcoming EP

“Hey Girl” is the next single from Belove and is the introduction to the Melbourne based electro-soul / R&B trio’s forthcoming 5 track EP, set for release later this year. This is the band's first release in 12 months and Belove will follow up this record release with a music video, filmed, directed and edited by Hoodwolf Harris (IVAN OOZE, Dylan Joel, DEX, Eloji), shot in their hometown of Melbourne.

‘Hey Girl’ is a sweet single with a bitter twist. The title suggests a flirtatious tone that can mislead listeners as Nick’s smooth vocal lures you into believing this is a song of love, but upon closer inspection, the lyrical content communicates a complacency and comfort felt in a relationship that has fostered feelings of discontent.

Belove have been playing to a loyal crowd and their fans are eagerly anticipating the EP’s release, and the band are excited to get the EP into the ears of music lovers. Combining classic RnB with future soul beats similarly heard from artists such as Erykah Badu, The Internet and Frank Ocean, listeners will discover a newfound affection in the funk infused smooth melodies of Jeremy (keys/synth/vox), Nick (vox/guitar) and Daniel (drums/pad). Belove’s sound can also be likened to local artists Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei and Ta-Ku.

A Single launch in Melbourne, supporting of the release will be announced shortly and more songs from the upcoming EP will be performed on the night. Belove take elements from hip-hop, flavours from jazz, influence from soul and grooves from funk. Their music, as well as their live performances, are innovative pushing genre boundaries. Live shows are intimate in a lounge type setting, though don’t expect to be sitting in your seat too long.
