The Harpoons share video for recent single "Do You Want My Love" + announce single launches
After recently releasing ecstatic disco-fused single “Do You Want My Love”, The Harpoons now share the perfect visual accompaniment, premiered via Rolling Stone. Along with the video, the band announce two single launches in Sydney and Melbourne following their highly anticipated Bigsound appearance in Brisbane this September.
The video features lead vocalist and all-round talent Bec Rigby in the back of a moving convertible, driving through a neon-lit Melbourne night. You imagine Rigby's left the party early to embrace the energetic city, as she sings into the camera “Do You Want My Love”? Though joined by band member Martin King from time to time, Rigby is in a solo state of ecstasy as the wind blows in her hair and she dances through the streets – an excellent visual counterpart to their latest offering.
Following their forthcoming Bigsound appearance in Brisbane this September, the Melbourne four-piece have also announced two single launches; taking over Sydney’s Brighton Up Bar on Saturday, September 9, before heading to Melbourne for their hometown launch at Northcote Social Club on Friday, September 25.
“Do You Want My Love” is The Harpoons first single as recent signees to one of Australia’s largest independent labels, Caroline Australia. Along with a new label, The Harpoons recently announced signing to prestigious touring agency Select Music, as well as London-based agency Primary Talentjoining international heavy weights Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Purity Ring.
Renowned for their soul-infused, contemporary pop sound, “Do You Want My Love” is the band's first release since 2014’s highly acclaimed debut LP Falling For You and 2015's irresistible "Ready For Your Love". Crafted over two years, Falling For You featured singles “Unforgettable”, “Keep You Around”and “Can We Work This Out”, which had previously won over fans via their infectious live show. The album soared to international acclaim taking them on a world tour with stops in Japan, the UK and New York, following local festival appearances at Meredith and Falls.
