Roland Tings shares his Each Moment A Diamond EP, out today

Following the release of blissful single “Higher Ground” featuring the luscious vocals of US singer Nylo and more recent cuts "Garden Piano" & "Slow Centre", Melbourne producer Roland Tings now unveils his Each Moment A Diamond EP.

An undeniably solid six tracks, Each Moment A Diamond sees Tings combine contemplative dance music with propulsive pop cues demonstrating a more sleek and disciplined sound. Opening track “Turn Your Face Towards The Sun” immediately sets the standard as a spacey, synth-heavy intro followed by the infectiously pulsating club track, “Hedonist”. “Higher Ground” shows a denser, pop influence while “Slow Centre” experiments with meditative tropical chimes. Each track seamlessly falls together with no shortage of creativity.

Tings attributes a more grounded approach to the EP's creation, using methods of repetition to ensure consistent ideas and harmonious work flow - an element easily recognisable on the EP.

Roland Tings on Each Moment A Diamond:

“ I developed a repetitive routine, riding my bike to the studio the same way, eating the same thing for breakfast, hanging at the same places. And then just working on music like it was a 9-5 job.”

"…..through having a rigid routine I was able to more easily grasp ideas that popped up, when something was different, when something sounded good I was able to notice it and follow where the idea would lead me. Maybe the most important thing I discovered was when to stop. When to let go of an idea, power down the studio, get on the bike and go home.”

Having come a long way from his once elusive bedroom producer status, Roland Tings is fast becoming one of the most respected and talked about artists in the country. Amongst his first fans was LA famed label 100% Silk who went on to release his debut EP Milky Way in 2012. In the years that followed Tings toured the US, Australia and Asia extensively, supporting the likes of AlunaGeorge, Chet Faker, Factory Floor, Optimo and Juan Atkins as well as giving lush remix treatment to the likes of Seekae and Banoffee. After releasing “Devotion” (#2 on inthemix’s Top 100 Tracks of 2015) and his debut, self-titled album (triple j feature album) in 2015, Tings followed up with “Hedonist” and "Eyes Closed" last year. 2016 also saw Tings tour extensively through North America and Canada with Chrome Sparks and RUFUS

Recently announced as triple j's resident DJ on their Mix Ups program in March, Rohan will take his EP across the country with special guests including Fishing, Lower Spectrum, Willaris.K, Venus II and TEES for a string of live headline shows in a new two-piece format throughout March and April. From May 1, he'll head back to the US for a mammoth tour with co-headliners Clark and Com Truise

Don’t miss seeing one of the country’s finest producers as he takes Each Moment A Diamond into a live setting.
