Secret Sounds is thrilled to announce that UK singer songwriter Laura Marling will tour Australia this June, armed with a new album of songs to add to her already formidable repertoire.
Performing in Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, Lauraβs return to Australia also includes an (already announced) special performance at the Sydney Opera House, a highly coveted spot on the 9th Vivid LIVE contemporary music program alongside an unrivalled line-up of international talent.
Known for her raw and emotive lyrics, Lauraβs sixth studio album βSemper Feminaβ is a personal and very topical observation of how society views sexuality and gender.
Written on the road, following the release of her acclaimed album, βShort Movieβ, in Spring 2015, βSemper Feminaβsβ loose lyrical thread strings together Lauraβs keen, freshly observed take on womanhood, and what she describes as a particularly βmasculine time in her lifeβ. It is an expression of her own voyage of self-discovery, both personally and as an artist over the course of her career.
βSemper Feminaβ follows Lauraβs recent Podcast series βReversal of the Museβ that looked at gender influence in the recording studio environment and featured guests such as HAIM, Karen Elson, Vanessa Parr, Dolly Parton, Shura, and Emmylou Harris.
Undoubtedly one of the most intriguing, talented and prolific young musicians of her generation, Laura Marling has just played a run of sold out dates across the UK and will tour across the US and Canada before she plays this very special run of dates for Australian fans this June.
Tickets to Lauraβs Vivid show at the Sydney Opera House are flying out the door and her other dates are sure to follow suit!
