LANKS ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM 'twentyseven'

Today, LANKS has announced that his long-awaited debut album twentysevenwill be released on April 27th via THAA Records. In conjunction with the announcement, the multi-instrumentalist has shared the album's title track, which follows his collaboration 'My Own Mystery' with singer-songwriter Ngaiire. Lucky fans will be treated to a preview of the new album material, when LANKS wraps up the 'My Own Mystery' single tour in Melbourne and Brisbane this week. Brisbane is sold-out, with limited Melbourne tickets remaining.

An ode to his partner and career, twentyseven follows the story of LANKS relationship and personal struggles as a musician. "I always had the age of 27 as a milestone in my mind, because many of my heroes had passed away at that age and already achieved a lasting legacy. This album is a message to myself of humility as I confronted that fear of failure (that was excessive and unhealthy), challenged my own idea of success and questioned what sort of person I aspired to be. The most in-focus connection throughout is my romantic relationship, culminating in a final affirmation of my feelings and ultimately leading me to my engagement. I’m a lucky man."

LANKS has released three EPs, Viet Rose (2016), Banquet (2015) and Thousand Piece Puzzle (2014). His work is self-produced, but since Viet Rose, he has worked with Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Hiatus Kaiyote, Oscar Key Sung) on additional production. Following acclaimed singles ‘Bitter Leaf’, ‘Holla’ and 'Comfortable,' LANKS joined brand new Melbourne based label, THAA Records in 2017.

With a distinct, vibrant live set, LANKS has toured with acts such as RÜFÜS, Vera Blue, Glass Animals, Toro y Moi, as well as a guest appearance for both Kilter and The Kite String Tangle. Often described as triple threat - a topline writer, vocalist, and producer, his collaborations include Just A Gent, Kilter, Ngaiire, Woodes, Motez and Set Mo.

With his debut album being released this year, there is no doubt that LANKS continues to prove himself a force to be reckoned with.
