What do you get if you cross Flight Facilities, Elizabeth Rose and a healthy dose of 70s/80s disco soul? A damn good time we say, and of course, the gorgeous debut release from Florian (aka Mikaela Dean), βStar Crossed Loversβ.
Considering these werenβt decades she even lived through, Florianβs debut does a pretty convincing job of tapping into the synth laden disco nostalgia of the time. With soaring vocals and a beat so catchy you simply canβt escape it, itβs hard to believe this is Florianβs first release.
Written in a single night, βStar Crossed Loversβ emerged from the melting pot that is Deanβs myriad of influences. Produced by Ross Ferraro (The Goods, The Posse), and mastered by Dave Cooley (Anderson Paak, J Dilla, Birds of Tokyo), the uplifting love song is the perfect way to start your weekend.
