A Quick Chat with Stimpies
You’re heading to BIGSOUND this year! How are you feeling about being part of such a huge week for Australian music, and what are you most looking forward to?
We’re feeling incredibly excited and humbled by the opportunity - to see artists from all across the country all in one place together, in a place we’ve yet to perform as a band, in front of an audience that’s new to us and our music.
BIGSOUND puts you in front of new audiences and industry from all over the world. What do you hope people take away from seeing Stimpies live?
To share in the excitement that we get to feel on stage, creating a moment within a room that's felt by everyone.
Your latest single, ‘Counting The Days’, arrives just before BIGSOUND. What’s the story behind the track, and why did it feel like the right song to share at this point in your journey?
It's definitely a song that stands on its own, and has been a crowd favourite for a long time. It was written in a bit of a mad rush, it's about getting away from people you don’t need.
‘Counting The Days’ is taken from your upcoming album, Doing Good**, out October 9. What can listeners expect from the album, and how does it build on what we’ve heard so far?
Doing Good is a sprawl of emotions and stories, what you’ve heard so far is only a pinhole into what's to come. It really feels like a reflection of who and what we’re made of.
With BIGSOUND, a new single and an album release all happening within a short space of time, it feels like a pretty big chapter for the band. How are you feeling heading into it all?
Proud. We’ve never worked this hard together before. It’s awesome to feel seen.
Looking beyond BIGSOUND and the release of Doing Good**, what’s next for Stimpies and what are you hoping the rest of 2026 has in store?
We don’t know yet. One step at a time.
