A QUICK CHAT WITH SCABZ

1: What are the themes ‘Feel Good Summer’ explores?

People who put their own wants in front of others’ needs, people who think they’re more important than others because they ‘work hard’ and have money. People who conveniently ignore climate science cause they like summer.

2: Victoria Bitter, or Melbourne Bitter?

One time we went to the CUB brewery in Abbotsford and did a tasting of VB, MB, Carlton etc and the guy running the tour said “next time you see a hipster on the street, you can thank them for bringing this beer out of obscurity and back in to the limelight, because we almost discontinued it”. I am very proud to be a part of this change and will never forget the day I had my first MB on tap in NSW. So, MB for me.

3: How did you enjoy BIGSOUND?

It was mad, I love the Valley, and especially love Crowbar, so running around and playing there twice in three days was heaps of fun. We thought all the ‘industry’ components would be bit more weird and awkward than they actually were as well, so that’s a plus.

4: You recently equalled the King Street Crawl record of 5 sets at 5 different pubs. Most bands can’t even get 5 gigs in a month. How was that experience?

After the second one I thought I had made the worst decision of my life, but we just buckled down and honestly, we could probably do six next year no dramas.

5: What can people expect for your upcoming Feel Good Summer tour with Picket Palace?

Most likely me front row and centre singing along to every Picket Palace song. Some laughs, singalongs, and hopefully a burning rage and passion to fix the world on the way out.
