A Quick Chat with RAMSTONE
For people discovering RAMSTONE for the first time, how would you describe the band's sound in three words?
Fun. Live. Energy.
Your latest single Cannonball is set to introduce a new chapter for the band. What can listeners expect from the track?
Listeners can expect an undeniable consistency of headbanging from start to finish. This new era of RAMSTONE delivers a "wall of sound" driven by huge rhythmic riffage, taking listeners on a powerful journey through a fictional story about empowering people to unite and rise against a fire demon that's bringing Armageddon to Earth.
RAMSTONE has shared stages with legendary Australian acts and some of the country's most exciting emerging bands. What's one thing you've learned from those experiences?
We've learned a lot about the business side of the music industry and how to adapt to today's economy, which has definitely impacted the live scene. More importantly though, we've realised how important it is to keep having fun doing what we love and to support other bands, because we all grow together and that's what keeps the scene alive.
Your music blends classic hard rock influences with a modern edge. Which artists have had the biggest impact on shaping the RAMSTONE sound?
Every member brings influences from across the entire spectrum of rockβfrom folk and blues through to stoner rock, nu-metal and heavy rock. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Audioslave, Wolfmother and Alter Bridge have all played a huge role in shaping our sound.
You've completed headline tours across multiple states and territories. What's been a standout moment from life on the road so far?
One thing we've noticed is just how strong the East Coast NSW live music scene is right now. Melbourne has been doing it tough with venues closing, artists paying to play and audiences struggling with the cost of going out. Queensland has less competition between artists, which creates more opportunities, but there are fewer venues and the towns are so spread out that touring can be a challenge.
What's the next goal RAMSTONE is aiming to achieve?
We've got a little secret... Japan... 2027...
