GUM SELLS OUT FIRST MELBOURNE SHOW + ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL SHOWS & SYDNEY VENUE UPGRADE + TOUR SUPPORTS

Due to overwhelming demand, GUM - the moniker of Tame Impala/Pond multi-instrumentalist Jay Watson has announced new show dates and a Sydney venue upgrade for his tour this March. Hometown fans can now rejoice, with a Perth date added on Sunday March 26th, whilst those who missed out on tickets to GUM's first Melbourne show now have a second chance, with an additional Melbourne date confirmed for Wednesday, March 29th.

Originally set to play Two Wolves Cantina on Saturday, April 1st, due to popular demand this Sydney venue has been upgraded to Oxford Arts Factory on new date Sunday, April 2nd. All current tickets purchased to the Two Wolves show remain valid, fans unable to attend the new show are asked to secure a refund from their original point of purchase.

Set to showcase 2016 surprise album Flash In The Pan with a full live band made up of Perth cohorts Jenny and Ali (Boat Show) and Scarlett Stevens (San Cisco), GUM will also be joined by eclectic Sydney artist and I Oh You signee Mossy in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. Pretty City, Deep Sea Arcade DJ's, Betty & Oswald and Blaand round out support duties across the Melbourne and Sydney dates, with Boat Show and DJ Ken Oath (POND) taking to the stage in Perth.

Recorded almost entirely at home throughout 2015 and 2016, the LP features future-soul lead single ‘Gemini,' which received a vibrant visual treatment from director Sam Kristofski, who used left over 35mm and 16mm film stock from CSI: Las Vegas to bring the themes of the track to life. Audiences will also be treated to the sampladelic-funk 'If You’re Gonna Love Again' and 'Deep Razz,' as well as the space-ballad 'Distorted Star.'

Having supported Mac DeMarco on his 2016 Australian tour and with a recent appearance on the line-up for Gizzfest, Flash In The Pan follows GUM’s 2014 debut Delorean Highway and 2015’s Glamorous Damage, which spurred psych-pop jam ‘Anesthetized Lesson’ and accompanying remix treatment by bandmate and friend Kevin Parker. Both records were hailed by the likes of Pitchfork, NME and Stereogum and featured on the longlist of the Australian Music Prize.
