The Used are celebrating 25 years in the game with a wild anniversary tour — three nights in every city, each one dedicated to a full album. Last night at Northcote Theatre was night one, their self-titled debut from 2002, the record that pretty much blew the doors open for them and defined an era of emo/post-hardcore.

This wasn’t some lazy greatest hits run. It was a proper throwback — every track in order, no skips. The crowd was stacked ready to relive the chaos of those early days, and from the second Maybe Memories kicked off, the place went nuts.

Of course the big ones slapped — The Taste of Ink was pure catharsis, Buried Myself Alive rattled the walls, and A Box Full of Sharp Objects was absolute carnage. But it was the deep cuts that hit hardest. Poetic Tragedy felt heavy as hell, and On My Own had the whole room singing like it was 2002 again.

This tour isn’t just about nostalgia — it’s a proper thank you to fans who’ve stuck around for two decades. And judging by the sweat, the screams, and the smiles, these songs still burn just as hard as they did back then.
