London Grammar Announce Intimate Show in Australia

Brit Award-nominated three-piece, London Grammar, are just about to touch back down on Australian soil next week ahead of their scheduled headline performances at The Falls Music And Arts Festival / Falls Downtown. Today the band are delighted to announce that they will be performing a very special and intimate show that will take place on Jan 5 at an Australian capital city.

The details of the show will be revealed on January 2 and tickets will be available to purchase via a ballot invitation only. Ballot winners will be contacted on January 2. You can register to enter the ballot here. Australian fans will be among the first in the world to experience new material from the trio’s yet-to-be-announced, forthcoming second studio album.

London Grammar emerged in 2013 as one of the most exciting international breakthrough acts of recent times. Winning a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for their hit single ‘Strong’, their critically acclaimed debut album, If You Wait has gone on to sell staggering 1.5 million copies worldwide and features the singles ‘Hey Now’, ‘Metal & Dust’, ‘Wasting My Young Years’ and ‘Strong’ led by front woman Hannah Reid’s powerful vocals.

Having met at University, Reid, Dan Rothman and Dot Major bonded over a common desire to make music, and now, as Dan puts it, “Fight tooth and nail over only one thing, which is how to do what’s best for the songs. But not in order to achieve perfection. We really believe that the beauty is in the imperfection.”

The band have dominated the UK live scene with multiple sold out tours and headline slots across a raft of high profile festivals, including the illustrious John Peel Stage at Glastonbury in 2014. International success swiftly followed with high profile US TV performances on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show With Letterman plus sold out shows across the United States and Europe.

London Grammar first captivated Australian fans with their debut performances in the country at The Falls Music And Arts Festival in early 2013. In September that year, If You Wait entered the ARIA Albums Chart at #2 and went on to achieve double platinum sales. The band’s most recent trip down under in March 2015 saw them perform five, massive, sold-out, headline shows across the country, including Redhill Auditorium, Riverstage and Festival Hall, plus not one but two Sydney shows at the Hordern Pavillion and The Enmore - leaving audiences crying for more, with the likes of The Music declaring, “with Reid’s vocals pushing the performance to new heights, elating every soul and leaving everyone hoping that it’s not as long between visits for London Grammar.”
