A Quick Chat with Jad Pinnone

Congrats on the release of Siren of the Rock! For those who don’t know, what is the song about?
The song is about two lovers - a sailor and a siren who fall in love but can’t be together because of their circumstances. The story was inspired by the Māori legend of Pania of the reef and the relationship I was in at the current time.

How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for 10 years but started playing music when I was 7 with the flute in Italy.

What’s your favourite show you’ve played so far?
Port Fairy folk festival. The energy was incredible and the town was amazing to stay in.

Which album do you have on repeat right now?
I've got a few albums I’ve been listening to recently! Matt Corby - Telluric, Missy Higgins The Sound of White and John Martyn - Solid Air.

What was the first gig / concert you ever went to?
The first gig I ever went to was to watch an Australian artist called Timberwolf. That was my first time watching a live gig and getting into Australian indie music.

What’s planed for the rest of 2025?
I plan to release my album as this is the last single from the album. This will be in the near future. I am also playing gigs that I have planned for July 5th at the Leadbeater Hotel, July 18th at Mr Boogieman bar and the 23rd of August at NightHawks. More gigs will also be confirmed.
